QUEENS — A frustrated robber pistol-whipped a Jamaica storage employee after it turned out there was no cash in the facility, police said.

The suspect walked into Ace Moving and Storage at 148-02 95th Ave. on Sunday, Nov. 29 around 2:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The robber brandished a black handgun and demanded money from a 46-year-old employee. When the man told him that he had no cash on hand, the suspect struck him in the back of his head with the gun, pushed him to the ground and then left, police said.

The robber then fled southbound on 148th Street in a beige Ford Windstar driven by an accomplice, authorities said.

The victim, who sustained pain, swelling and a laceration to the back of his head, was taken to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, eyeglasses, a black jacket over a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
