EAST VILLAGE — An offshoot of Xi’an Famous Foods is coming to the East Village, according to documents filed with the community board.

Biang! — named after the sound noodles make “when they are being pulled and slammed against a work surface” — will serve northwestern Chinese cuisine at 157 Second Ave., according to its liquor license application.

The site previously housed Adler, acclaimed chef Wylie Dufresne's bistro, before it closed earlier this year.

Unlike the fast-casual atmosphere of the popular Chinese food chain — which has seven locations citywide, including one on St. Marks Place — Biang! will provide table service and offer dishes “family-style,” according to a menu attached to the application.

The applicant, Xi’an Famous Foods President and CEO Jason Wang, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Wang previously opened Biang! in Flushing a few years ago, according to EV Grieve, which first spotted the liquor license application on Community Board 3’s agenda.

The Queens location, located at 41-10 Main St., closed on Nov. 18 but will reopen in its new location, according to a message posted on its website. The store will be turned into Xi’an’s flagship location, according to the eateries’ websites.

Wang is set to go before CB3’s SLA Committee on Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the community board’s office located at 59 East Fourth St.
