FLATIRON — A Flatiron perfume shop worker was punched and had his arm slammed through a display case during an argument inside the store last week, sending him to the emergency room, according to a police report.
The 35-year-old victim, an employee of a shop at 1179 Broadway between 27th and 28th streets, got into a verbal dispute with Jesse Rivera, 23, of Queens, at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, police said.
It was not immediately clear what the two men were fighting about, but the argument escalated and Rivera allegedly sucker punched the clerk in the face and smashed his arm into a glass case, seriously injuring the man, according to a police report.
Rivera was arrested not far from the store and booked on felony assault charges, according to police and court records.
A judge ordered Rivera held on $2,000 bail, and he is due back in court on Nov. 30, according to court records.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, according to a police report.
