SUNNYSIDE — A man followed a woman into her Queens apartment building on Saturday and robbed her at gunpoint, according to the NYPD.

Police said the suspect trailed the 25-year-old woman as she entered her building near 47th Avenue and 39th Place shortly before 5 a.m. They released a surveillance video in which the suspect can be seen rushing to push open the lobby door before it closes, with what appears to be his gun in his right hand.

Police said he pointed the gun at the victim and demanded she hand over her purse, which had her bank card and $60 in cash inside. The suspect handed it over, and the suspect fled, police said.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt over a light shirt, dark pants and black sneakers, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
