The suspect was fighting with a woman outside a restaurant on Roosevelt Avenue, near Elbertson Street, at about 4:40 a.m. on Nov. 6, police said.

The witness intervened, but when he turned to walk away, the suspect shot him multiple times in the back, police said.

The man then fled with two people, who can also be seen in surveillance video on Roosevelt Avenue.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, and was last listed in critical condition, officials said.
