LOWER EAST SIDE — A man suspected of raping one woman and attempting to assault two others in their Lower East Side apartments last week is under arrest, according to the NYPD.
Robert Bowie, 20, of the Bronx, was arrested at 1 a.m. on Saturday and charged with rape, burglary, sex abuse, robbery, coercion and criminal sex act — for a string of attacks on Nov. 12, according to police and prosecutors.
Bowie first followed a 33-year-old woman into her James Street apartment at about 5:40 a.m., where he grabbed her and attempted to rape and rob her before she fought him off, police said
Two hours later, he followed a 24-year-old woman into her Broome Street building. Prosecutors said he grabbed her by the shoulders and asked her, “Do you have any money?” before telling her he only wanted to touch her. He removed her ID, and then fled when she screamed, police said.
In the latest incident, Bowie targeted a woman entering her apartment along the FDR Drive at about 8:45 a.m., pushing his way into the 40-year-old woman’s home where he threatened her, raped her and stole money, prosecutors said.
The woman was taken to an area hospital, treated and released, according to authorities.
Bowie's bail was set at $300,000 bond or $150,000 cash, according to online records. He is due in court on Nov. 19.
His attorney did not immediately respond to request for comment.
