GRAMERCY — Police are hunting two men in connection to a string of violent robberies earlier this month that involved attacking and holding up at least four people in Gramercy and Chelsea.

In the first incident, the suspects attacked a 24-year-old man inside the elevator of his 18th Street apartment building at roughly 7 p.m. on Nov. 6, according to the NYPD.

The bandits cornered the man and beat him with a blunt object, striking him in the face, head and neck before taking off with $200, police said. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

The pair surfaced again early the next morning, at roughly 1 a.m., attacking a 36-year-old man as he was walking in front of 346 E. 20th St., repeatedly hitting the victim and causing injuries to his face, hands, elbow and knee, police said. The thieves made off with the victim's Samsung smartphone, police said.

The robbers struck at least once more that morning at about 2 a.m., when they threatened a 30-year-old man and 35-year-old woman on 21st Street. One of the suspects pretended to have a weapon and snatched an iPhone 6 and a handful of debit and credit cards, according to police.

Police described both robbers as being between 18 and 25 years old and each standing 5-foot-10. One of them was clad in all black and the other was wearing a blue Adidas hoodie.
