The Secret World Inside You”

Where: American Museum of Natural History, 79th Street and Central Park West, Upper West Side
When: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

A new exhibit uncovers the mystery behind the trillions of microbes living inside you — a number greater than all the stars in the Milky Way! Kids will love the interactive games and adults will marvel at the scientific breakthroughs that are leading us to better understand disease and a bunch of health issues, from depression to autism.

Where: North Forest Park Library, 98-27 Metropolitan Ave., Forest Hills
When: Noon to 1 p.m.

Enjoy free and easy-to-follow dance steps that will help you increase your cardiovascular fitness and tone your body. Space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Classic Movie Mondays

Where: Sunnyside Library, 43-06 Greenpoint Ave., Sunnyside
When: 3 to 5 p.m.

Head to the library every Monday afternoon this month for a screening of a classic Hollywood flick. Nov. 16 will feature “Angel and the Badman,” a 1947 film starring John Wayne.

Sign Up For An NYC ID Card in Park Slope

Where: John Jay Educational Campus, 237 Seventh Ave., Park Slope

When: 3:30 to 6 p.m.

Starting Nov. 16 and through Dec. 7, you can walk into the John Jay Educational Campus to sign up for the free NYC ID, which can be used for discounts at city museums and to start a checking account at Amalgamated Bank, as well as serving as a valid photo ID for city agencies. It’s recommended that you make an appointment online before showing up to get your free ID.

“Film Tribute: Survival in Shanghai” and photo exhibition

Where: Park East Synagogue, 164 E. 68th St., Upper East Side
When: 6 p.m.

A film in tribute to Chinese people who provided refuge to more than 25,000 European Jews during World War II will be screened for the first time at Park East Synagogue as part of a Kristallnacht Commemoration. Rabbi Arthur Schneier will open the premier, which will also feature a discussion with the Chinese ambassador, the deputy consul general of Israel, and a representative of the Shanghai Media Group, which helped produce the film. Several survivors who escaped to Shanghai will be in attendance as well.

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Check out massive, quirky sculptures made out of canned food, all in the name of stamping out hunger. The food drive also encourages visitors to bring cans of food to donate.

Grand Central Holiday Fair

Where: Vanderbilt Hall, in Grand Central Terminal, Midtown East

When: Starting on Nov. 16, weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For six weeks, 76 vendors will fill one of the train station's halls and sell items such as handbags, clothing and even gifts for pets.

Tuesday

Susana Moreira Marques in conversation with Leslie Jamison

Where: Community Bookstore, 143 Seventh Ave., Park Slope
When:  7 p.m.

Susana Moreira Marques will discuss her new book “Now and at the Hour of Our Death,” which “blends poetry and journalism to create a work of reportage like no other,” according to Community Bookstore. Jamison is a novelist and essayist.

One Night in Heaven with Maeve Higgins

Where: Donaghy Theatre, Irish Arts Center, 535 W. 51st St., Hell's Kitchen
When: 7:30 p.m.

Irish comedian Maeve Higgins hosts a sidesplitting variety show with a host of entertaining characters. Tickets are $22.

Wednesday

Trans Day of Remembrance

Where: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 81 Christopher St., West Village
When: 5 to 8 p.m.

Organized by the TransJustice branch of the Audre Lorde Project, this year’s Trans Day of Remembrance marks 2015 as a year of “loss, resistance and resilience” within the transgender and gender non-conforming community — 22 transgender women have been reported murdered this year. Activists plan to gather at St. John’s to “celebrate the lives of those we’ve lost and uplift their legacy of resistance to state violence.”

 Wine and Shopping Party

Where: Lockwood, 33-02 Broadway, Astoria
When: 5 to 8 p.m.

Sip on wine while you shop at Lockwood boutique in Astoria. Everything in the store will be 15 percent off, and company Elevie will be doing demos of its “Wine Maturing Badge” and how it works to enhance the taste of wine.

Stand Up For Bernie Sanders: Bern’in Down the House

Where: The Bell House, 149 Seventh St., Gowanus
When: Doors open at 7 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for this fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. The line-up of comics includes Ted Alexandro, The Lucas Brothers, Hasan Minhaj and many others.

Thursday

Autumn Foliage Walk (last of the season)

Where: Randall’s Island
When: 11 a.m. to noon

A guided tour showcasing fall colors through the island. The tour includes a walk through the recently completed woodland path and scenic waterfront views. Hot beverages will be included.

Free Workshop on Caring for an Aging Parent

Where: Park Slope Center for Successful Aging, 463A Seventh St., Park Slope
When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Learn how to care for a parent who’s slowing down at this free workshop sponsored by the nonprofit Heights and Hills.

Pioneer Books Reading Series

Where: Pioneer Books, 289 Van Brunt St., Red Hook
When: 7 p.m.

Join Pioneer Books for its semi-monthly book club in Red Hook. Its first discussion will focus on “The Universe,” a collection of thoughts from scientists exploring “the origin, mysteries, and future of the cosmos.” 

Beyond Time

Where: BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, 30 Lafayette Ave., Fort Greene
When: 7:30 p.m.

Check out the U.S. premiere of this performance from Taiwan’s U-Theatre, with gongs, drums, chanting and contemporary dance mixed with martial arts. Tickets start at $20.

The Wind Up: The Power of Pictures

Where: The Jewish Museum, Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street, Upper East Side
When: 8 to 11 p.m.

As one of its after-hours events, the Jewish Museum will feature live music, a photo booth, an open bar, a performance by the dance band Romashka and a music set by DJ Spinach. The event is inspired by the museum’s exhibit “The Power of Pictures: Early Soviet Photography, Early Soviet Film,” which will be on display from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. that night. “Jacqueline de Ribes: the Art of Style” Fashion Exhibition

Where: The Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Ave., Upper East Side
When: Starting at 10 a.m., the exhibit will be open through Feb 21.

The exhibition will feature 60 ensembles of haute couture of Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, who became a celebrated fashion icon in the 20th century. Her creations for fancy balls will also be shown along with photographs and ephemera showing her interest and love of fashion.

After Hours Tour & Wine Reception

Where: Museum at Eldridge Street, 12 Eldridge St., Little Italy
When: 6:30 p.m.

Learn more about the historic and active synagogue, which opened in 1887, with a behind-the-scenes tour followed by a wine reception. The tour is $30 per person.
