HARLEM — They've got a bad feeling about this.

Theaters across the country and all AMC locations in New York, including Harlem’s Magic Johnson Theater, are asking "Star Wars" fans to leave their masks and blasters at home for the of "The Force Awakens," which comes out next month.

Lightsabers are OK, but fans will have to keep them turned off in the theater.

“I think it’s a good idea, we have to know who is in the theater especially because of the shootings,” said Harlem resident Vannesa Cruz. “I wouldn’t go into a theater if someone wore a mask.”

Other Harlemites, like Mark Jones who recently dressed up as Peter Pan when taking his son to see "Pan," had mixed reactions.

“I don’t know,” he said. “If you are paying money you should be able to go in and enjoy yourself.”

AMC’s policy prohibits movie goers from bringing “items that would make other guests feel uncomfortable or detract from the movie-going experience.”

While Star Wars fans are allowed to dress up, they simply cannot wear a mask or bring in weapons.

“In short, bring your lightsaber, turn it off during the movie, and leave the blaster and Darth Vader mask at home,” reads a statement on AMC’s website.
