Saturday, Oct. 24
Design Kids
Where? Cooper Hewitt, 2 E. 91st St., Upper East Side
When? Sessions beginning at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Duration 90 minutes.
How Much? Free, but you must RSVP
This design-challenge workshop at Cooper Hewitt, the Smithsonian’s Design Museum, encourages kids to play designer by participating in activities related to one of the museum’s current exhibitions.

Alice Live! 
Where? New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center, 40 Lincoln Center Plaza, Upper West Side
When? Noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Closed Sunday. 
How Much? Free
Alice Live! commemorates the 150th anniversary of the publication of "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland." The multimedia exhibition traces the history of Lewis Carroll’s beloved Alice stories in live performance from their first professional staging to the present day.

How Cats Took Over the Internet
Where? Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35 Ave., Astoria
When? 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. across the weekend. 
How Much? $12 adults, $6 kids.
"How Cats Took Over the Internet" shows the history of cats online, examining phenomena such as Caturday, lolcats, cat videos and celebrity cats unearthing why cat images and videos have transfixed a generation of web users.

Sunday, Oct. 25
Heart & Seoul: Laughing Masks!
Where? Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave., Crown Heights
When? 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
How Much? Included with museum admission of $11 per person. 
Suited for kids aged from 2 to 5 years old, this workshop during the museum's South Korean festival, will teach kids about the Korean masks known as Hahoe-Tal. These special masks are worn during the Hahoe Mask dance and are portrayed with laughing smiles.

Storytime in the Met’s Nolen Library
Where? Nolen Library, Uris Center for Education, Metropolitan Museum, 1000 Fifth Ave. (at 82nd Street), Upper East Side.
When? 3 p.m. most days
How Much? Free; museum admission is not required.
Look, listen, sing, and have fun with picture books; then continue your adventure with a self-guided gallery hunt through the museum. Suitable for families with children ages 3–6, though kids of all ages are welcome. First come, first served.

Brooklyn Sewers: What's Up Down There?
Where? Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn Heights
When? Noon to 5 p.m. across the weekend. 
How Much? $10, kids under 12 free. 
"Brooklyn Sewers: What's Up Down There?" explores one of Brooklyn's oldest and most extensive infrastructure projects. The exhibition was created by a team of teen curators who participated in Brooklyn Historical Society's free afterschool museum studies program.
