UNION SQUARE — Police released a video of the man accused of trying to force himself on a woman in a public bathroom in Union Square on Sunday.

The victim, 63, was in the bathroom near East 17th Street and Union Square East at about 1:15 p.m. when the man barged in and demanded she perform a sexual act on him, police said.

When the woman refused, the man attacked her, and after a brief struggle she managed to fend him off by biting him on the hand and fleeing, according to a police report.

The woman was taken to an area hospital where she was treated and released, police said.

Police describe the suspect as being about 30 years old with a thin build, short hair, a long goatee, and wearing an Army green camouflage jacket over an orange hoodie. The suspect got a laceration on the hand from the victim's bite, according to police.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit tips on the website.
