QUEENS — The NYPD is going pink this month.

Local precincts across the city have been coming up with creative ways to beautify their station houses and cars as part of the "pinkiest precinct” contest launched by the department during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The precincts have also been documenting their efforts by posting photos to their Twitter accounts using the hashtag #NYPDBlueGoesPink.

In Forest Hillsthe 112th Precinct has painted its lobby pink. A pink ribbon has also been painted at the entrance to the precinct and one of the patrol cars was outfitted with pink stripes.

On Monday, the precinct is hosting a bake sale dedicated to the cause from noon to 4 p.m.

The 103rd Precinct in Jamaica also decorated its station house with pink ribbons and is planning to hold a bake sale on Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The precinct installed a number of massive pink strobe lights along its station house, lighting up the building at night.
