QUEENS — A tiny kitten rescued from a sewer Monday night is looking for a new, loving home.
The cat, named Penelope after the street she was trapped on, was rescued thanks to a passerby who heard her crying as he walked his dog on Penelope Avenue in Middle Village, according to the New York Daily News.
He tweeted at the 104th Precinct, which responded to scene and saved the cat with the help of the Emergency Services Unit.

Four Paws Sake NYC, a Middle Village-based animal rescue organization, took the kitten to BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Forest Hills, to make sure Penelope was not injured.
“She is a healthy kitten and really cute,” said Paul Miranda, the practice manager at BluePearl, adding that Penelope is about four to five weeks old.
Miranda also said that Four Paws Sake NYC is slated to pick the kitten up later on Tuesday and will oversee her adoption.
