Man Yells Anti Gay Slur During Attack at Midtown Subway Station, NYPD Says

MIDTOWN — A man punched and kicked another man after yelling an anti-gay slur at him in a Midtown subway station last month, according to the NYPD.

The two men were leaving the 1 train station at 50th Street on Sept. 23 at 6:45 p.m. when the attacker kicked the other man in the buttocks and called him an epithet in Spanish, a police spokesman said.

He then struck the man twice before running off.

The victim followed him, possibly in an attempt to get his photograph, and the man struck him again before running off, the spokesman said.

The suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 iwith long dark hair, according to the NYPD. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and red sneakers.
