NEW DORP BEACH — A homeless man who was struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Staten Island died nearly a month later from his injuries, police said.

Robert Roesch, 54, died on Sept. 3 after the accident at Ebbitts Street and Hylan Boulevard last month, police said.

On Aug. 17, police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck at the intersection at about 4:20 a.m. Roesch — who the NYPD said was "highly intoxicated" — complained of a broken leg.

Roesch was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The medical examiner later determined his cause of death was consistent with being struck by a car, police said.

No arrests have been made and police said an investigation is ongoing.
