DONGAN HILLS — A man was hospitalized after being stabbed Friday by a longtime acquaintance he fought with at a barbecue, prosecutors and a law enforcement source said.
Farkhod Bakhadurov, 45, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with stabbing the 57-year-old in front of a Dongan Hills bus stop, prosecutors said.
Bakhadurov has known the victim for nearly a decade, the source said. But the two had been in a three-year dispute when they ran into each other at a mutual friend's barbecue on Friday afternoon, the source said.
They argued at the party and Bakhadurov stabbed him in the torso after they walked together to a nearby bus stop at the corner of Liberty Avenue and Hylan Boulevard at about 5:55 p.m., the source said.
The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he is in the intensive care unit, prosecutors said.
Bakhadurov was arrested on Monday and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.
His bail was set at $3,500 and he's due back in court on Sept. 25, according to online court records.
Bakhadurov's lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
