Saturday, September 26
World Maker Faire 2015
Where? New York Hall of Science, 47-01 111th St., Corona
When? Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
How much? Adults $45, youth and student tickets (ages 3-17) are $30.
Maker Faire is a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness. Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned. 

Common Ground Family Festival
Where? Morningside Park, Between West 110th and West 123rd streets, Morningside Heights
When? From 2 p.m., with the lantern procession beginning at 8 p.m.
How Much? Free
The Common Ground Festival is a fun day of familiy activities and entertainment in Morningside Park, which will be followed by the third annual Morningside Lights procession of illuminated lanterns. Make lanterns for the procession in the afternoon, and enjoy face painting, pony rides, square dancing and a puppet show presented by the City Parks Foundation Marionette Puppet Theater.

Fall Family Day at the Museum Of The Moving Image
Where? 36-01 35 Ave., Astoria
When? Saturday from 11:30 a.m. 
How Much? Admission is free for kids ages 12 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults $12. 
Celebrate Muppets creator Jim Henson's birthday with an afternoon packed with educational activities for kids. Immerse yourself in the world of puppetry by exploring everything from the creation of simple hand puppets to the newest digital puppetry techniques used in current Henson Company programming. Throughout the day, you’re also invited to explore Behind the Screen, the Museum’s interactive core exhibition, and the popular temporary exhibition How Cats Took Over the Internet.

Film Forum Jr.
Where? Film Forum, 209 West Houston St. (west of 6th Ave.), Greenwich Village
When? Sundays at 11 a.m.
How Much? All tickets are $7.50
Downtown cinema Film Forum is presenting a weekly Sunday matinee series of classic kids films, with most programs appropriate for ages 5 and up. This weekend catch a 4K restoration of The Beatles classic “A Hard Day’s Night.”

Harvest Festival
Where? Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
When? Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
How Much? $3 suggested donation. 
Reap, cook and eat potatoes that were planted in the Prospect Park Alliance garden back in May. Challenge friends and family to potato sack races and join a "Transforming Food" session from 2 p.m., by helping to make tasty treats like popcorn and apple pie in the Lefferts wood burning hearth.

Celebrate International Fashion Week at CMA
Where? Children’s Museum Of The Arts, 103 Charlton St., Hudson Square
When? Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
How Much? $12
Celebrate International Fashion Week with special fashion workshops in the Children’s Museum Of The Arts Fine Arts Studio. Create your own unique design for a fashionable fabric bracelet or bow-tie using funky patterns and colors. Then create a mood board and sketch designs to inspire your very own fashion line. Ages 5+.
