Maybe his eyes were bigger than his stomach.
A rat was captured on a video posted Monday dragging a whole slice of pizza down a flight of subway stairs at the First Avenue L train station. He almost makes it all the way down to the platform, but gives up before reaching the bottom and scampers off.
It appeared to be a plain slice, though its origin will probably remain a mystery.

Riders at the First Avenue L train station also expressed their solidarity with the rat Monday evening.
"It's like I was reincarnated as a rat. Except I wouldn't have given up," said Ruby June, 21, at the First Avenue station.
"I'm a ride or die kind of person. You gotta ride that slice to the bottom of the stairs or die."
Shosong Zhang, 25, who recently moved to the city from Dalian, China to study at Columbia said she thinks the video is definitely a New York phenomenon.
"We don't have any rats in the subway in my city," Zhang said. "But the subway just opened up a year ago so they'll probably come."
