PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — A popular neighborhood coffee shop and cafe is opening up a second location in Prospect Park, the park announced this week.

Tip of the Tongue Cafe, located on Lincoln Road near Flatbush Avenue in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, is now open at the Prospect Park Picnic House, an event space located on the Park’s West Drive near the Long Meadow, the Prospect Alliance said.

The cafe will be open four days a week, Thursdays through Sunday, for the fall season. It will close on Oct. 31, the Alliance said, but will reopen for the 2016 spring season.

The shop will serve what it’s known for at its original Lincoln Road shop — coffee drinks, house-made pastries, sandwiches and salads.

In a statement, the president of the Prospect Park Alliance Sue Donoghue said the group is “delighted to partner with a beloved local business” at the Picnic House.

“The Alliance is committed to improving amenities for all Park visitors, including high-quality food and drink options,” she said, including Smorgasburg, the seasonal Brooklyn-based food vendor market that recently moved to Prospect Park on Sundays.

Tip of the Tongue in Prospect Park is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays.
