UPPER WEST SIDE —  A thief stole $4,000 in property after breaking into a Mercedes Benz parked along Amsterdam Avenue, police said.

The man parked his 2012 Mercedes Benz outside 527 Amsterdam Ave., near West 85th Street, on Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. When he returned at 9:30 p.m., one of the back windows was smashed and items he had left in the car, including $200, were gone, according to police.

A pair of $400 Tory Burch sunglasses and a Bloomingdale's gift card were among the $4,000 worth of stolen items, police said.
