MIDTOWN EAST — A turnstile jumper was arrested on Sunday inside the East 59th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station after he was caught carrying a loaded handgun, police said.

Police stopped Jose Aponte, 32, of The Bronx, at 12:17 a.m. after he hopped a turnstile on the 4 train platform of the subway station, and searched him after a warrant check revealed him to be a repeat offender, according to police.

During the search, police found him carrying a plastic bag with a loaded, 7.65 mm Walther PP (short for polizeipistole or police pistol) — nearly identical to the one made famous by fictional super spy James Bond.

Aponte was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and fare evasion, according to court records.

He's being held on $75,000 cash bail, and is due back in court on Sept. 18, records show.

Aponte’s lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.
