GRYMES HILL — A man was arrested for stealing a Citi Bike after police found him riding it on Staten Island, which has no stations for the bike-share system, prosecutors said.

On Wednesday, police stopped Sean Williams, 42, after they saw him riding one of the blue bikes at about 12:30 a.m. at Vanderbilt Avenue and Roff Street, prosecutors said.

When stopped, Williams told police that he got the bike from a friend.

Williams did not have a pass for the bike share program and police later found that the bike was reported missing from a station in Midtown on July 2, a law enforcement source said.

He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property at his arraignment on Wednesday, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

Williams was released without bail and is due back in court on Oct. 27, according to online court records.

His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
