FLATIRON — A former student of Stella Adler Studio of Acting sent the school an email threatening to burn it down, police said.

The 31-year-old Queens man sent the email to the film school at 31 W. 27th St. at 11:06 a.m. on Aug. 15, with a movie clip attached that caused the school to believe he would set the it on fire, authorities said.

Police could not specify what the movie clip entailed. It's also unclear what provoked him to threaten the school.

Representatives of the studio — which is named for the famous actress and acting teacher, and whose alumni include "Orange is the New Black" star Kate Mulgrew — did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The man was arrested at 8 a.m. on Aug. 26. He was charged with aggravated harassment and released. He was given a desk appearance ticket, which will require him to return to court at a later date, according to police. Information regarding an attorney was not available.
