QUEENS — Starbucks, which currently does not have any coffee shops in Rego Park, will soon open two locations in the neighborhood.

The coffee giant is planning to open a store on 63rd Drive, near Queens Boulevard, one of the busiest intersections in the neighborhood. It will be almost across the street from the Rego Center

"Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers, and we are happy to confirm that we will be opening a new location at 9515 63rd Drive in Rego Park, Queens this September," a spokeswoman for the chain said in an email.

The news comes on the heels of an announcement in June that Starbucks will open its first drive-thru location in Queens as part of a development planned for 92-77 Queens Blvd., which will also include a Wyndham Hotel and Retro Fitness gym.

Starbucks declined to share more details about that location, but a representative for Matt Development said that he expects the coffee shop to open sometime later this year.

The coffee giant also has a location on the corner of Queens Boulevard and 67th Road in Forest Hills, near the Rego Park border.
