QUEENS — A yellow cab backed into a man in Jackson Heights on Aug. 19, killing him, police said.
The taxi was heading north on 74th Street and stopped in the crosswalk at 37th Avenue about 1:10 a.m. It then backed up and hit a 55-year-old man, whose name was not immediately released, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The man was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital, police said.
The driver remained on the scene and was not immediately arrested.
