CLAREMONT — The state is putting two former rehab sites in the South Bronx up for auction.

The buildings, located near each other at 849 Crotona Park North and 1790 Marmion Ave., will both be auctioned off on Sept. 2 at noon at the Justice Sonia Sotomayor Community Center, 1000 Rosedale Ave. Minimum bids for the buildings are $380,000 each.

The properties were previously used by a certified treatment provider for the state's Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, called VIP Community Services, according to the agency.

However, VIP relocated the programs after the cost of updating and rehabilitating the buildings became too expensive, and the state determined that there was no other good alternative use for the structures.

The building at Crotona Park North was constructed in 1931, and the state acquired it in 1994. It is 5,357 square feet, three stories tall and contains a cellar and garage. The state describes it as "a multi-family residential building."

The Marmion Avenue building was constructed in 1930, with the state also acquiring it in 1994. It is 5,700 square feet and three stories tall with a full basement.

Both buildings are located very close to Crotona Park.
