BROOKLYN — An 8-year-old girl was killed after being struck by an SUV in Flatbush Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

Jadann Williams was hit less than a block from her home at East 22nd Street and Ditmas Avenue at about 5:06 p.m., police said.

A man driving a Toyota SUV south on East 22nd Street struck the girl who walked into the street from between two parked cars, according to sources.

Luis Silverio, 15, saw Jadann playing with a ball on the sidewalk before he went to the supermarket with a friend.

"We were gone for four or five minutes. We came back and we saw her in a pool of blood,” Silverio said. "I was shocked. It was just sad.”

Jadann was rushed to Kings County Hospital Center with severe head trauma, where she died, police said.

The 35-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not initially charged, a spokesman added.

The investigation is ongoing.
