GREENWICH VILLAGE — Three teens surrounded a middle-aged man on a subway platform and stole his cellphone, police said.

Police said three teens targeted a 46-year-old man with a Samsung cellphone in the West 4th Street subway station on Aug. 10.

The man was standing on the southbound A train platform when the teens, between the ages of 16 and 20 years old, crowded around him about 8:20 p.m., police said.

Police said the three teens snatched the man's cellphone from his hands and took off running.

Two of the suspects appeared to be between 18 and 20 years old, police said. One was wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts and was carrying a multicolored backpack, and the other was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The third suspect appeared to be 16 or 17 years old, police said, and was wearing gray shorts, a white tank top, a Nets baseball cap and red headphones.

The NYPD is asking that anyone with information on the suspects call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
