QUEENS — A Jamaica man was arrested after he tried to teach his 15-year-old nephew how to load a gun, police said.

The boy was hanging out at his uncle's house on Liverpool Street, near South Road, roughly noon on July 30, police said. At some point, the 36-year-old man allegedly told the boy: “I want to show you how to load my gun, you are old enough now to learn how to defend yourself,” according to the criminal complaint.

The teen then saw his uncle reaching into his pants and heard a clicking sound. He got scared and locked himself in a room, according to court documents.

The boy then called his mother who in turn called police, officials said.

When officers arrived, they recovered a loaded 9mm Ruger pistol with six live rounds of ammunition in the magazine from the man’s waistband, according to the criminal complaint.

The man was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

Other notable crimes in the 103rd Precinct include:

► Two suspects approached a 16-year old man at 148th Street and Jamaica Avenue on July 17 at about 11:30 a.m. and asked him to deposit a check for them.

They promised to give him cash wrapped in a white sock for it. Then they drove the teen to his home. The victim left his stuff in a car with them, including an iPhone 6, laptop and Samsung tablet, worth nearly $3,000, and went to his apartment to hide the sock.

When he returned, the car and the suspects were gone. It later turned out that the sock was filled newspaper scraps.

► A 19-year-old man was beaten on Aug. 8 at roughly 7:15 p.m. inside a Subway restaurant on Sutphin Boulevard by two attackers who repeatedly asked him if he was a gang member.

The suspects hit the man multiple times with bottles and chairs, causing a large cut on his head. The man, who was later rushed to Jamaica Hospital, told police that during the attack he feared for his life.

► A 20-year-old man fell asleep on the E train on July 28. When he woke up at roughly 7 a.m., three men were standing around him brandishing a knife. They demanded his wallet and cell phone and then fled the train at the Sutphin Boulevard and Archer Avenue station.

► A man tried to rob a 38-year-old woman as she was making a deposit inside an ATM on Aug. 3 at about 9 p.m. on Jamaica Avenue, near Sutphin Boulevard.

The 51-year-old man grabbed the victim from behind and dragged her to the floor. The woman tried to escape but the man pulled her back from the door and held her down while trying to steal $600 from her. Police responded immediately and arrested the man, who had a lengthy criminal record. The woman suffered a cut on her left elbow.
