BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Police released new surveillance video Tuesday of a man wanted for raping a woman in a Bed-Stuy stairwell.

The suspect approached his 52-year-old victim near Putnam and Bedford avenues on Monday at roughly 3 a.m., threatening to shoot her if she didn’t follow him, police said.

He brought her to the outside stairwell of a Lefferts Place building where he pushed his fingers down her throat and raped her, according to officials.

The woman lost two teeth in the attack.

Recent video from police shows the suspect walking in the area of Classon Avenue and Union Street.

The man is in his late 30s with a muscular build, according to officials, and may have bite marks on his right hand. He was last seen wearing beige shorts and sneakers, according to wanted posters.

Police are offering up to $2,500 for information on the suspect and the community group Advocates Without Borders will provide an additional $2,000, organizers said.

“We don’t think women should have to walk in fear in any area of New York City out of concern they could be raped by this same individual,” said Tony Herbert, founder of Advocates Without Borders.

There have been 17 reported rapes so far this year in the 79th Precinct, according to police data.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
