QUEENS — Get ready to be dazzled at the upcoming orchid show at the Queens Botanical Garden.

Flower enthusiasts will get a chance to see 250 various moth orchids in different shapes, sizes and colors, shipped from Taiwan for the event this weekend.

“Taiwan is the largest exporter of orchids in the world,” said Anne Tan-Detchkov, a spokeswoman for the garden.

According to the garden, moth orchids are “a significant symbol in Taiwanese culture, spanning over a century of cultivation in Taiwan’s marine tropical climate.”

“Taiwan: A World of Orchids,” which will run only from Friday to Sunday, will also feature a site specific program including dance performances, live music and short film screenings sponsored by the Taiwanese American Arts Council.

The show will end with an orchid sale on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 5:15 to 6 p.m. The plants will cost from $10 to $30, according to the garden.

The event, which will run from Aug. 21 to Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is free with garden admission ($4 for adults; $3 for seniors; $2 for students and children; free for QBG members). The Queens Botanical Garden is located at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing.
