MANHATTAN — A man was injured when a car struck him in Chelsea early Thursday morning, officials said.

The 46-year-old man, whose name was not immediately released, was hit near Eighth Avenue and West 28th Street about 2:26 a.m., according to NYPD and FDNY spokesmen.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, officials said. His injuries were initially considered serious, but were then downgraded to minor, an NYPD spokesman said.

There were no arrests at the time, police said.
