LOWER EAST SIDE — A group of teenagers attacked two women, chipping one of the victim’s tooth at the Baruch Houses last week, police said.

The 18-year-old women were walking southbound in front of 571 Roosevelt Ave. on July 31 at around 11:15 p.m. when they heard a group of people trying to get their attention, according to the NYPD. They tried to ignore the calls but they got louder and closer, so they turned in the direction of the noise, police said.

Police said a group of seven or eight teenagers then approached the women and attacked them. The assailants punched one of the victims, which was followed by another blow to the face by a 17-year-old boy, who chipped her tooth, police said.

The group continued to attack the victims until they spotted a police car and fled, according to the NYPD. One of the teenagers also stole an iPhone 5C, keys, I.D. and $60 in cash from one of the victims during the melee, police said.

Police arrested a 15-year-old girl in connection with the incident, whose name is being withheld because of her age, according to the NYPD.

Five of the remaining six suspects are girls between 15 and 17 years old, who are between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-5 and weigh between 120 to 170 pounds, police said.

The sixth suspect, a 17-year-old boy, stood at 5-foot-5, weighing 200 pounds, according to the NYPD. He had brown eyes and black curly or wavy hair, police said.
