Man Tries to Rape Woman in South Bronx Clothing Store, NYPD Says

THE BRONX — A man tried to rape a clerk in a South Bronx clothing store in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday, according to the NYPD.

The man walked into the store on Aug. 1 at about 2:30 p.m. and started browsing through some of the clothing. He then assaulted the 41-year-old female worker and tried to rape her, police said.

The woman was able to fight him off, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police did not release the address of business to protect the identity of the victim.
