ASTORIA — Want to tune in for — and heckle — the upcoming presidential debate?

Astoria venue Q.E.D. will host a viewing party for next week's Republican primary debate, where Frank Conniff, one of the stars of the cult comedy TV show "Mystery Science Theater 3000," will riff on the political showdown as it happens.

He'll be joined by comedian John Fugelsang, host of the show "Tell Me Everything," on SiriusXM Radio, with the pair providing a running commentary "adding to the hilarity" of the event, according to a press release.

Conniff, who was also one of the writers for "Mystery Science Theater 3000," should feel right at home in the role: the show, which ran from 1988 to 1999, featured a man and a pair of robots watching and commenting on bad movies.

The show — on which Conniff played the character TV's Frank — gained a cult following and earned Emmy nominations and a Peabody Award.

The debate party at Q.E.D. will take place Thursday, Aug. 6 starting at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $8 and include a drink and a slice of pizza. For more information, visit the venue's website.
