Woman Seriously Injured After Jumping in Front of 1 Train at Canal Street

MANHATTAN — A woman was struck and seriously injured on the northbound 1 train tracks at Canal Street during the evening rush hour Wednesday, an MTA spokeswoman said.

The woman jumped onto the tracks a little after 6 p.m., according to officials, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

There were delays on uptown 1,2 and 3 service, and 1 trains were running express from Chambers Street to 14th Street, according to the MTA.

Downtown trains were still running normally.
