Man Stabs Woman Over Subway Seat on 2 Train in The Bronx, Police Say

THE BRONX — A man stabbed a woman in an argument over a seat on a 2 train in Mott Haven Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The two got into an argument on the southbound train near Third Avenue and East 149th Street on July 26 at about 2:15 p.m., police said.

The suspect stabbed the 25-year-old woman with a sharp object in her abdomen and left arm, authorities said.

She suffered non-life-threatening injuries, an NYPD spokesman said.

The man then fled the train at the 149th Street station.

The suspect is a heavy-set man, 45 to 50 years old, with salt-and-pepper hair.

He was seen walking out of a subway entrance carrying a bright orange Joe Fresh bag, according to surveillance video.
