Cyclist Seriously Hurt After Hitting Pedestrian, Police Say

BROOKLYN — A cyclist was seriously hurt when he hit his head on the ground after colliding with a pedestrian in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said.

The cyclist, who is in his 40s, was riding down DeKalb Avenue about 11 p.m. when he hit the pedestrian near Franklin Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said.

The cyclist fell off his bike and hit his head, police said. He was treated at Kings County Hospital where he's listed in serious condition, police said.

The pedestrian, whose identity was not immediately released, refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
