Burglar Steals More Than $9K in Smartphones From Corona Store, NYPD Says

QUEENS — A burrowing burglar stole $9,500 worth of smartphones by cutting a hole in the back wall of a Corona electronics store, according to the NYPD.  

The man climbed through the opening of the shop at 97-09 Roosevelt Ave. about 9 p.m. on July 9, police said.

He grabbed about $6,000 worth of Samsung phones, $2,000 worth of iPhones and about $1,500 worth of other cell phones, an NYPD spokesman said.

The burly man appeared to be wearing a baggy hooded shirt and baggy pants, according to surveillance footage.
