QUEENS — Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and watch free family movies in Jamaica parks this summer.
Starting this week, locals can catch several movies, including old classics like “Raiders of the Lost Ark" with Harrison Ford or "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" starring Brad Pitt as well as Disney’s animated musicals, such as "The Princess and the Frog" and "Frozen" (sing-a-long edition).
Organized by nonprofit A Better Jamaica, the "Family Movies in the Park" series, in its ninth season, will be shown at four local parks.
On Mondays, movies will be screened at Cambria/Cabbell Park; on Tuesdays, families can catch flicks at Brookville Park; on Wednesdays films will be shawn at Baisley Pond Park and on Thursdays — at St. Albans Park.
A Better Jamaica is also behind the "Classic Film Fridays" series, presented in the summertime on Fridays at Rufus King Park. This year, the series which features films based on a particular theme, shows movies with the late Robin Williams.
All the screenings start at sunset.
