Staten Island Beach Fest

Where: South Beach, Midland Beach, Conference House Park, Borough Hall Plaza and Richmond County Bank Ballpark

The eight-week Staten Island Beach Fest kicks off on Saturday and Sunday with events at five locations on the borough's waterfront. The first events for the festival include a street fair by NYC Arts Cypher at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, a food festival by the North Shore Business Association at Borough Hall Plaza, a beach dance party by Eve Ultra Lounge with fitness classes, dance lessons and a beach fair at Midland Beach. All events are on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. The Conference House Park will also host American Heritage by Red Storm Drum & Dance Troupe and yoga and fitness classes on Saturday and Sunday. "Macbeth" at Fort Wadsworth

Where: Fort Wadsworth, 210 New York Ave.

The Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre will put on a free performance of "Macbeth" at at Fort Tompkins, inside Fort Wadsworth, on Saturday and Sunday. The production, directed by Eric Petillo, will be at 3 p.m. both days, and will also be performed on July 25 and 26.

Sprinklerfest

Where: Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston

At the annual free Sprinklerfest, Snug Harbor will turn up sprinklers on the Great Lawn for kids to run through from noon to 4 p.m., with a rain date set for July 24. The event features a rock climbing wall, music, boardwalk games, fresh produce on sale from Heritage Farms and a raffle to win One Direction tickets.

► Rising Sun All Stars concert

Where: 5050 Skatepark, 354 Front St. in Stapleton

5050 Skatepark will host its first summer event featuring a host of Staten Island bands. The event is headlined by the hip-hop group The Rising Sun All Stars. The concert, which starts at 7 p.m., will also have T&C, Leadhead, Pussywolf, Barone and The Dead Wrestlers playing. Tickets are $10.

Kingdom of the Fallen Art Show

Where: Nurnberger Bierhaus, 817 Castleton Ave., West Brighton

The German restaurant Nurnberger Bierhaus will host an exhibition of artwork by Brian Profilio, drummer of The Budos Band, and Terry Lee Chandler.

"Go Set a Watchman" Discussion

Where: Everything Goes Book Cafe, 208 Bay St. in Stapleton

Staten Island OutLOUD will celebrate the publication of Harper Lee's controversial lost novel "Go Set a Watchman" at 3 p.m. by hosting a free discussion exploring the work. Visitors are asked to bring a copy of the book if they have one, or they can pick one up at Everything Goes Book Cafe.

► Wish Sisters Performance

Where: Staten Island Culture Lounge, 10 Ferry Terminal Drive in St. George

Staten Island Arts' new exhibit, "What Do You Wish?" opened on Thursday and has wish-themed mail art sent from around the world, short videos, a "Whispering Wishes" sound installation and the Wish Sisters collecting wishes in a variety of ways throughout the exhibit's run. The Wish Sisters' first performance, from noon to 4 p.m., has two Wish Sisters collect wishes from people in the Ferry Terminal. Viv de Dada will catch whispered secrets and put them in a large bottle with a stopper, while Jennifer Weigel will have people attach wishes to pennies.
