COBBLE HILL — Aaron Taber, the former chef at Red Hook's acclaimed Grindhaus, will take over as the new executive chef of June Wine Bar, the restaurant said on Facebook

Taber, who previously worked at The Pines, returns to the kitchen this week and the eatery will begin serving his new additions to the menu over the next few days, according to Eater

June Wine Bar opened at 231 Court St. earlier this year as a bar serving only natural wine, co-owner Tom Kearney told DNAinfo in January.

Grindhaus finally opened its doors in November 2013 after a five-year wait, with Taber and chef Leon Douglas running the kitchen. The restaurant earned two stars from The New York Times under Taber.

But a year later, owner Erin Norris decided she wanted to switch gears at the tiny restaurant and turn it from "fancy" to "a neighborhood joint," she told DNAinfo.
