UPPER WEST SIDE — A man survived a point-blank shot to the head in the Upper West Side's City Diner Thursday morning, police said.

The 24-year-old victim, whose name was not immediately released, was sitting with a woman in a back booth of the Broadway diner, near West 90th Street, about 3:45 a.m. when the suspect came in and ordered some food to go, NYPD sources said.

The suspect, also a man, walked to the back to shake hands and greet the victim, police said.

The suspect asked the victim, "Don't I know you from somewhere?" according to police sources

The suspect left the eatery, but then re-entered, police said.

He paid $10 for the food but left it on the counter as he walked to the back and fired at the victim, police sources said.

The victim ducked, but a bullet grazed his head near his ear, NYPD sources said. He brought himself to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene on foot without picking up the meal he paid for, police said. No arrests had been made as of Thursday.

The diner was open later that morning.
