QUEENS PLAZA — A group of men tried to rob a 19-year-old as he was walking in Long Island City last month, beating the victim with a metal object before he was able to fight them off, according to police.
Five men, of unknown ages, approached the victim as he was walking on Queens Plaza South near 28th Street at about 5:45 p.m. on June 22 and tried to rob him, striking him in the face and body with an unknown object, police said.
The victim, who suffered minor cuts from the attack, managed to fight the men off and the group fled, police said.
The NYPD released a sketch of one suspect involved in the incident.
