SUNSET PARK — Grado Labs is putting a piece of Sunset Park in its newest line of headphones.

The audio company launched its limited edition "GH1" headphones, which are built from a single tree that was found in Sunset Park, the company said in a blog post Wednesday.

The Brooklyn maple tree in question was slated to be recycled and used to make furniture so Grado Labs snagged it "before it was turned into a chair or table." the company said.

This is the Sunset Park company's first time using maple and it was not immediately known how many headphones had been made from the tree. Jonathan Grado, of Grado Labs, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The headphones are priced at $650.

The family-owned company was founded in 1953 in Brooklyn by Joseph Grado, who died earlier this year. Grado Labs is currently helmed by John and Jonathan Grado, Joseph's nephew and grand-nephew respectively, according to the website

The "GH1" line marks the beginning of the Grado Heritage Series, the company said.

"The performance is dynamic, the bass frequencies are authoritative, the midrange is true, and the high frequencies are immaculate," the company promised.

"We hope you enjoy this little piece of Brooklyn as much as we did making it."
