BUSHWICK — Demolition has started at 330 Himrod St. to make way for a massive mixed-used project that will take over half the block near Wyckoff Avenue.
The 63-unit development by ASH NYC — whose developers are known for a well-circulated "Housing for Hipsters" presentation — will be a mix of new construction and a rehab of the old Dannenhoffer's Opalescent Glassworks factory, according to ASH.
The property will also have commercial space.
Construction walls have been put up along Himrod Street for the demolition, which is expected to be done by the fall, according to postings on the site.
The overall development is expected to be finished by late 2016, according to an ASH spokeswoman.
ASH purchased the land in 2012, according to Department of Finance records.
The company also helped develop luxury condos in Greenpoint at 48 Box St., selling the six units on opening night for more than $4.5 million total. The last apartment to sell in that property went for nearly $716,000 in 2013, for a 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom apartment.
It's unclear whether the units in the Bushwick development will be rentals or condos.
