UPPER WEST SIDE — Doggy rain gear, treats and emergency clean-up supplies can now be delivered to your door within an hour.

The on-demand grocery service Instacart is expanding its partnership with Petco to offer service in New York City for the first time, starting with access in parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn Tuesday, the company said.

Instacart began working with Petco in other cities this January and is calling the partnership PetcoNow.

Pet owners in Manhattan neighborhoods below 114th Street — including parts of Downtown, Chelsea, TriBeCa, SoHo, NoHo, the West Village, the East Village, Union Square, Gramercy, Midtown, the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side and Morningside Heights — can order from Petco via Instacart's online portal and receive their goods within an hour.

Parts of some Brooklyn neighborhoods also have access to the service, including Brooklyn Heights, Vinegar Hill, Red Hook, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Flatbush, Sunset Park, Bed-Stuy, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and Kensington.

The company expects to expand its coverage areas in the city quickly, a spokeswoman said.

Petco is the first non-grocery partnership for Instacart, which offers New York City delivery from places like Whole Foods and Fairway, as well as Zabar's, among other grocery stores.

"In recent weeks, Instacart has worked to hone the complex logistics required to deliver everything from a 2-ounce bag of fish food to 50-pound bags of dog food in the crowded streets of New York," said Nilam Ganenthiran, head of business development and strategy for Instacart, in a press release.
