CRIME BLOTTER: $2,300 in Jeans Stolen From Shop Across From Barclays Center

BROOKLYN — This thief had a flair for picking out valuable threads.

A teenager snatched two stacks of True Religion jeans worth a total of $2,316 from the premium brand’s boutique at 162 Flatbush Ave., across from the Barclays Center on July 1 at 5:20 p.m., according to a police report.

The denim bandit took six pairs of black “Joey” flare jeans, which sell for $188 each, and six pairs of blue Joey flares, which go for $198 a pop.

Other notable crimes from this week's blotter at the 78th Precinct include the following, with details drawn from police reports:

► More than $4,440 in clothes were stolen on June 22 at 11 a.m. from an Infiniti parked on Ninth Street and Fifth Avenue while the car's owner was exercising nearby. The stolen garments included several items by the Italian luxury designer Ermenegildo Zegna, and shirts by Badger & Welsh.

► A 45-year-old woman had her purse, cell phone and $76 in cash stolen about 4:30 p.m. on July 5 after she left the valuables in a locker at the Lakeside skating rink in Prospect Park.

► A mom had her cell phone and wallet stolen at the Chuck E. Cheese in the Atlantic Terminal Mall after she put the items down on a couch while she played with her child at 6 p.m. on June 30.

► A 27-year-old man was arrested after breaking into an apartment on 14th Street and Fourth Avenue on July 2 at 6 p.m. and stealing a key and an envelope containing $1,200 in cash.

► A 32-year-old man was arrested after stealing an Apple iPhone 6 and a Samsung Galaxy S6 from a Verizon Wireless store on Seventh Avenue and Garfield Place on June 30 at 12:55 p.m.

► A thief swiped $2,000 in cash from the counter of Tomato & Basil Pizza on Fourth Avenue and Union Street about 11 p.m. on June 28.

► A woman had her wallet stolen after she left it on a chair and walked away while shopping at Marshalls in the Atlantic Terminal Mall on July 4 at 4:10 p.m.
