MOTT HAVEN — A Bronx motorcyclist was shot in the butt during a road-rage battle with a car driver while biking along the Major Deegan Expressway, according to the NYPD.

The feud began at about 2 a.m. June 23 when the 29-year-old biker started fighting with a car over lane space near the George Washington Bridge, police said.

When he got to his exit at 138th Street in the 40th Precinct, he heard a popping noise, he told police. He didn't realize he had been shot until he arrived at the place on Brook Avenue where he stores his motorcycle, where he discovered he was wounded in the right butt cheek, according to the NYPD.

The victim walked into Lincoln Hospital at about 4 a.m. He acknowledged that he had been driving aggressively, and he may have cut off the car, police said.

He was driving very quickly and could not get a good look at who was in the car, so he was unable to provide a description of the shooter, according to police.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or the 40th Precinct at 718-402-2383.
