A Jamaica block was turned into a set Wednesday for the upcoming NBC series "Shades of Blue" starring singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.

The movie shoot took place at 150-02 88th Ave., on a usually quiet block, near Rufus King Park.

Lopez, who plays the main character, New York detective and single mother Harlee Santos, was seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and high heels. She was also carrying a police badge and gun.

The shoot, which included both interior and exterior scenes, was later scheduled to move to nearby Briarwood.

The filming attracted dozens of local residents trying to snap a photo of the superstar.

One local resident, Maritza Yax, ran up to J. Lo and was lucky to have her picture taken with the singer.

"I'm so excited that she is here!," Yax said.

According to the "Shades of Blue" website, the character played by Lopez falls "in with a tight-knit group of dirty cops, taking bribes and protection money that she uses to provide the best life for her honest, talented daughter."

She is later forced by the FBI to inform on them.

Scheduled to debut later this year, "Shades of Blue" also stars Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo.
